Different Perspectives

Every Writer has a different perspective.

To champion the value of different perspectives in writing, Girls Write Now, a New York based writing and mentoring organization, asked young women and gender-expansive youth in the community to look at the same footage as inspiration for a story—their story.

Five mentee writers were given the same piece of film that had no audio and asked to put words to the film. Telling a story about it with their own unique perspective. Once the stories were finished, we brought each mentee into the sound studio, recording the words in their own voices. laying it over picture, and using custom music and sound design to elevate their story.
